Alis girls
made some dough in bread maker for rolls yesterday to see if they would be ok for high tea on Christmas Day. My ES came into kitchen and surveyed them and next minute one had gone followed by another. I'd made some soup and the rolls went down a treat. Made more today + mince pies and christmas biccies and the case for Poet's lemon tart. The boys came and helped/hindered as kids do in between runninginto garden to snow and demands for hot choc. A lovely morning and listening to archers too. Blisssssss Edited December 21, 2009 by Guest

Guest
can I have the recipe for the bread rolls please? I've done dough for rolls in my BM before and then cooked them in the oven and they weren't quite right so i'd love to know how you did yours. What flour and yeast did you use? I need exact details! Alis girls
Bun dough 2/3 cup water at room temp about 20c 2 beaten eggs 2tbspns of marg 3 cups of white bread flour (i have used waitrose own, tesco or lidl) 2tbsns sugar (sounds a lot but they are not sweet to taste) 1/2 tspn salt 2tspns dried yeast Put in all ingredients - wet and salt at bottom and flour, sugar and yeast at top. When programme is complete mould into torpedo shaped rolls (makes about 15) and put on greased baking tray.leave to reprove for 10-20mins. Bake at 200c/400f/gas 6 for 15mins or till bottom is hollow when tapped. Mine went lovely and brown - took about 15mins in my fan overn but keep checking. Have no idea on agas - so sorry if you have one. Did on dough prog of bread maker. I will say my kids love messing with dough and mine were not torpedo shaped - in fact anything but and one is a teenager Good luck and let us know if it works. Ali x Just got a batch of this out of the oven and it is lovely.I was a bit worried about the amount of sugar but it doesn't taste odd. I wonder if you could get away with using less? Alis girls
Yes they dont taste sweet - i dont add full tablespoons - sort of levelish. This recipe was from the manua which came with the breadmaker. the ordinary loaves I made were dreadful till I googled and found some that worked a treat. This does work well and can be used for Pizza too. Glad it worked.
