Gluten free Gravy??

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Have a person coming to dinner that can't eat gluten.

So think I am OK with everything... Except Gravy?

Believe I can't use gravy granuals (and why would I want to anyway!!) but I always use flour to thicken any sauce - what can I use instead? Or do I just have to leave it very runny!!

Guessing also there is no alternative to Yorkshires? Or does anyone know if the "fake" flour stuff would work for this...?

Many thanks for any advice.

You could use cornflour for your gravy........and gluten free flour makes a reasonable yorkshire pud, a bit heavy but perfectly acceptable. We make a small batch of gluten free ones and freeze them. We just take a couple out when we need them. You need to add some baking powder to the mix - just make sure it is one that is suitable, some of them aren't.
