Lewis
The ducks don't seem to mind the snow here! I emptied and re-filled the paddling pool and they went mad! The whole patio was wet and is all icy now
jayjay
They look fab and just like a white version of my snow loving pair. Bill and Daffers (as yet unclipped) have been quite taken by the snow up here. They seem to really like chewing on the ice that is forming on their pond too. Any advice on how to post a pic to show them off? JJ

jayjay
Ok thanks and here goes. This (if it works) was taken before snow. Daffers in front and Bill behind. They're great girls. Have you clipped your two? JJ

jayjay
Very quiet on the duck forum these days - seems ducks like the snow more than chooks! The prolonged snow brings new challenges to the new duck owner methinks. The latest trial is how to keep the local starving wildlife away from the duck dinner. Today alone there were 2 hooded crows, 4 pheasants, unlimited blackbirds and a flock of robins. They all seem to prefer pellets to wild bird food. Bill and Daffers are completely nonplussed although they do quack loudly when 'bigboy' the male pheasant struts by. They also wait patiently beside the food bin whenever they hear the back door opening. Have been back and fore with warm water to their slushy pool (which they insist on sitting in) and now have installed a hot water bottle in the house (awaiting the delivery of my snugglesafe). Roll on spring! JJ
