chickencam
I made this one yesterday in the adapted cake tin that my OH lined with some cardboard and a springform tin on top and I lines it with parchment paper. You need a tall tin to support the dough as it rises. It is really light and delicious which I didn't expect it to be. We struggled to find a recipe and got one from the internet in the end. Does anyone have a favourite recipe?

Lesley
I was only looking at the cake.....and imagining chopped apricots instead of squashed flies It does look good - I was wondering why you wanted another recipe! Would you add the recipe you used? I'd like to make one for mt Dad's birthday on New Years Day.

chickencam
I found that the starter and the main mixture were quite difficult to amalgamate they needed my Kenwood to beat them together. Another thing is that in the cold conditions at the moment the final rise took best part of 3 hours. I used easy blend yeast for the main mix after using dried active yeast for the starter which hadn't done much after the 12 hours, there were a few small bubbles and it had risen a bit, but I am more used to the sachets of fast acting yeast. It worked out at 2 sachets of 7g
