I have been given a lovely Starbucks gift set of a mug & a bag of their yummy Christmas blend coffee, but its in bean form & I don't have a bean grinder

 

Does anyone know if a food processor will do the job,or if not what else I can do with them?

I think my mum and dad used to use a food processor when I was little,

It actually worked well, & the house now smells wonderful.

 

I am not used to the Cafetiere though,so its going to be a bit of a learning process,I think

I asked Santa for a cafetiere last Christmas and didn't get one and still didn't get one this year!

 

Let me know how you get on with it Cinnamon - I've not used one before either.

I love my cafetiere - I have a delongi coffee grinder and love the beans to coffee in no time at all - you will get used to it quite quickly - lovely present.

The only problem with blitzing in a food processor is that some bits will get overground whilst others will get underground; there's just too much room for the beans to move around. However, some food processors will come with a grinder attachment (sometimes called a spice mill) which will do the job really well. A compromise alternative could be to use a liquidiser or liquidising attachment, although that'll only be for relatively small amounts.
