quickcluck
Hi guys, My 2 marans have this week taken to roosting on high perches rather than going into their eglu..... We've had the eglu apart to check for creepy crawlies, there were none!!!! So we just go and carefully lift them and put them to bed. They are safe in a WIR, should I insist they sleep inside or leave them to their own devices??? Thanks k
Redwing
As long as they are safe I wouldnt be worrying, it may be worth keepin an eye on things in case there is a problem with a bully in the coop

Patricia W
Mine always roosted high outside the eglu. Then I got a cube - problem solved! Some chickens have a very strong instinct to roost off the ground it seems. Tricia
chelsea
I would put them inside if it were me... our Acorn used to refuse going in but we realised Ella sat by the door of the cube pecking her on the way in which is probably why! After putting her in repeatedly for several nights she soon got back in the swing of things.
quickcluck
They are the only 2 in the eglu which is off the floor on a table. It seems that if they've been socializing withthe big girls in the day time they dont like going to bed!!!! We do put them in tho as it's freezing
