chickenopolis
I know that the ground resembles a bog and that today is the first day we have had no rain, but trying to keep the run base dry (and failing miserably), my girls feet are just black. They managed to walk through a large puddle on the patio which cleaned their feet only then two minutes later to turn their attention to demolish a grow back that I hadn't quite got round to clearing away. How do you keep your chicken's feet reasonably clean?? Any suggestions would be very welcome.
sjp
I don't try to mine are always digging be it in the run or the garden I think mine just have a roll around in the dust bath which is dry that seems to do the trick
Plum
I only worry if the mud dries with grass around their feet then I pick or soak it off.
Saronne
Whenever I bring mine indoors for a quick check-over, I do a ceremonial foot-washing in the sink of the downstairs loo. Warm water, a bit of antibacterial soap and a gentle massage. They really love it - then I dry their feet with a old towel and massage vaseline into their toes and legs. My OH thinks I'm mad... It doesn't keep them clean for very long though. Saronne x
