To all of you who are building your own runs...make sure you measure and fit everything properly

 

I built an enclosure inside a stable a short while back, I didnt measure the door before I cut the mesh and it nearly didnt fit but to avoid re-dong it I stapled the mesh right at its very edges

 

I arrived at the stable today to fnd that a something had pulled the mesh away from under the staples on the wood and made a gap, luckily the chickens were ok but next time I will measure and cut the mesh properly giving a good overlap and stapling at joins properly rather than trying to save a few pence by making something fit where it doesnt!

Needless to say its been fixed now and I will be more careful in future!
