Unsecure chicken perches

Hi I bought Tulula about 5 weeks ago and having some doubts about whether she is a hen. nothing specific (no crowing or mounting). She is a Sultan and now about 20 weeks old.

 

What do you think?

 

Well its two weeks on since that photo and her face is starting to go a bit red. I understand she is not a complete pure bread so wont look exactly like my white sultan but am i kidding myself thinking she is a girl?

Hen defiantly At 20 weeks old she would have a red comb, sweeping hackle and saddle feathers if she was a chap

On a Cockerel they sweep down and are very pointy, in hens they don't sweep and are rounded

I'd say its hard to tell, I have some and still cant tell, mine are over 20 weeks

 

The comb is hidden in the crest but as Tom says you should see some redness, I will dig my pics out..

 

here is a boy, mine look nothing like this so either we both have girls or they are late maturing

Here are two of mine, there is no redness and they are older than yours

 

In saying that if you got yours off a breeder I expect they have more skill in these matters and can probably be trusted to get it right
