Does anyone own a cube with 3+ extensions?

Recommended Posts

ME!!!

I have a cube train!!! I have a cube with standard run and five extensions!

I have been lucky enough to get my hands on some additional door panels (thanks to my omlet mates) and I have two side entrances...one near the cube end and one two thirds of the way down!

If I want to extend any further I am going to need to turn the corner!

I knew photos would be requested..... I will take some tomorrow AM before work if there is enough light.

Lewis....I walk in run would be preferable for me and if it was homemade like the big girls one then it would probably be cheaper. I have managed to pick up second hand extensions for the bantams so I have not spent as much as I could of!

For me the benefit of the extensions over a WIR is the overall look in our garden - when we extend we will continue the shrubbery to discreetly disguise the 'train', so it blends more into our small, modern garden and I don't feel I could get that affect with the WIR.

Also when buying the Cube, it was the look of it that attracted us and how it fitted into the garden, whilst a WIR is more practical I couldn't get that modern look.

Was just wandering :D

They do look good, our gardens 'old' though  ... I wouldn't be able to get in to clean them out though so would have to move them out the way :lol:

Arrh I have the cleaning out bit solved...I take the entire end door panel off! Plus I am a shorty so I can get in and clean all 7m out!

I am not SO short that I can stand up straight though! I am 5ft 2....and a little bit! :D

Hi, we have a Cube with 3 extensions (so 5m run in total). The run lengths were added one by one, whenever we felt flush. I suppose one benefit of the separate lengths is that it will be possible to disassemble the run and take it with us when we move next month.

We liked the look of the Cube, so never really considered a WIR before now, but we may eventually upgrade to a WIR at the new place, because the mucking out is not so great for my back (but secretly I would like just one or two more girls 8) ).

I did originally consider a door conversion, but eventually we opted for a "split" run, where the extensions are attached to the Cube (+original run) by Velcro straps and bungee cords rather than the green clips. Basically, whenever I need to clean the girls out, I detach this and "reverse" the Cube out of the way. One unintended benefit of reversing the Cube out of the way is that any spillage from cleaning the Cube itself does not drip straight into the girls' dust bathing area.
