Couperwife
Has anyone ever seen this dvd box set advertised in gardening magazines? I bought it kev for Christmas I got 2 dvd sets (2 years worth) so we have 26 dvds all about 3 hours long its about a couple who live on this small holding/farm in the penines (hence the title ) and its a year (well, 2) of their trials, tribulations and successes I dont know how much experience this guy has of gardening or cooking though, and its a bit slow and a bit boring but it is informative cathy x

Couperman
The first few DVD's were a bit monotonous (pricking out of every plant shown) why say 1000 words when 10,000 will do! I don't think I spent 3 hours in the garden in January but he had 3 hours after editing! The later ones have improved. It got a lot better when I realised I could speed him up. At 1.5 x speed he seems only slightly boring. I am sure he's a lovely guy but he needs to work on his presentation skills and speak about 1.5 times faster. He has tended to ramble off into politics once or twice too His house, gardens and his huge greenhouse are lovely, I am decidedly jealous of his greenhouse but no so much his charisma. Only about 20 left to go Kev.

TheGirlsMum
I must admit I have looked at the adverts quite a few times but it seems like Ive been saved a lot of money
missuscluck
I have so very nearly bought this set on a number of occasions after seeing the adverts but never quite got round to it. Tbh the amount of dvds put me off a bit. I dont think Id have ever got round to watching it all. Interesting to hear about it though. I think I will perhaps give it a miss. I bough my oh a number of HFW dvds one birthday or two ago and it took us about a year to get round to watching them and I have to admit I slept soundly to most of them Im ok for an hour or so of tv watching then it turns into a nice kip. Its my age
Couperman
I am up to August now and to be honest he is getting a bit better. I didn't really see the need for the holiday video though or the shot of the unmade double bed and could probably have done without the Kitchenette cooking in Speedo's scene, but still the gardening bits are interesting at 1.5 speed. He has grown a lot Hydroponically and that now seems to be his favourite thing, they did do well mind. I am hoping now that the next set (2008) will be much better as he will have honed his delivery, learned to control himself on camera and refrain from kissing his ladyfriend, Grizelda, (can't remember her real name but it's something like that) every five minutes, how sweet He might have taken all his constructive criticism and feedback on board by then too. I think he should launch a spoof, by simply changing the DVD covers. 'A Benign Kitchen and Garden' It's worth buying to see the 'lift', it's similar to the one in 'Dirty Dancing' only it takes place in a large greenhouse without a long run-up and results in the harvest of several overhead cucmbers that she could easily have collected using the time tested technique of lifting your hands above your head. Oh and replace Patrick Swayze with Captain Mainwaring and you pretty much have it. I know I have taken the mickey a bit but don't let that put you off buying it! It's great! No really, it's not as bad as I have painted it, I have been quite kind. I will definately watch all of them Kev.
