captaincollins
HI, my eglu arrived yesterday and I intend putting it up today, its bigger then I thought and I went abit mad online shopping! I got a cube+ extension and then 2 X ententions so = 5 metres. I was going to put this on the grass, but wont be able to move it, having been reading on here all day, studying photos I am thinking its better to put on the patio on woodchip and then adoise or something when I can source that. but to do that it means I can only use a total of 3m (I cant turn any more of the garden over to patio) so my question is, if I have 5m on grass and on a good layer of woodchip how often will it need changing and how much will it smell? Thanks Sharon
Ain't Nobody Here
Congratulations, Sharon (and welcome to another Scottish Omleteer ) . Your grass won't stay grass for long to be honest. It'll soon turn to mud. I used to have my eglu on soil with hemcore or easibed and changed it every 6 weeks or so. It shouldn't smell if you clean it out fairly regularly. I use Stalosan F (a powdered disinfectant which keeps pongs at bay too) and garden lime to keep the soil sweet. Could you have half on patio and half on grass? Then at least half of it would be easier to clean out.
captaincollins
well I may be able to see that when its made............which is very difficult and I must say I am pretty disappointed considering I spent £1000..........the wrong instructions and loads of washers missing, is not what I expect.
