DH has been requested to fit Ikea Kroken rails to new run when it goes up......

 

Has anyone got any pics of them fitted to give him some ideas?

 

Especially of a superglug fitted as I am not sure how high the rail would need to be off the floor, or even if it would work for a superglug!

They would work ok with a superglug just make sure the fixing points are solid though as a full superglug is very heavy! I cant help with the height as everythine I see a superglug in someones run its at a completely different height to the last one I saw!

Yes - I am worried about the weight of a full superglug.....considering swapping for a glug at the mo!

You'll be ok but will need a plank across two of the uprights to support the rail, something at least three quarters of an inch thick

Been to ikea this morning and brought my run one of these am fed up wth mine falling down.Other half got to drill in top brick work so am hoping they will work like yours unless ikea have changed them in any way that they not

Tasha, how high are your grub + glug rails?

 

Just trying to work out how high to have ours, but we have the 2 'peanut feeders', new style grub + glug and a superglug .... with just 2 ikea rails

Might have to buy another one

No idea... about a foot? its a bit low though as the grubs hang lower so the chooks used to have to bend down to access them, about 15 inches would probably be closer to correct

 

The opening of the grub really needs to be at chook back level

 

The rails are now redundant as I have hanging feeders now

The new grubs are really deep with a kind of slope back so they hold more, but I think they'll need to be a bit lower than the others
