Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

hi all

 

got a leaky roof on my WIR- decided to replace with corregated plastic etc. but cant afford to do it until the end of the month- the prob ive got is that the bedding (bedmax) has got all wet now and is rather manky (even though its fairly new)

 

dont know what to do? dont want to replace it as its just going to do the same and cost me a fortune!

I would throw some stalasan on it to sweaten it and leave it until the roof is done just keep raking it to let the air in. It's a waste of money otherwise.

I bought my Stalosan online last year and it's great for using on wet patches in the coop.

 

I'd do the opposite in a covered run though! I'd clear out the manky wet badding and put clean new stuff down. It's the "wet" bit that concerns me as it's where all sorts of problems start.

I would take the bulk of the bedding out and leave a thin layer that you can rake over

 

However if the layer left really doesnt dry out at all then I'd bin that too

 

Bedmax is cheap, its not worth taking the chance if you at all unsure
