pinkmagic
we had a fox attack in December last year, leaving just one of our ex batts all alone. We adopted 2 more to keep her company and despite all getting on, the original bird has developed a nasty habit of pecking out the little feather stubs on the new pair as soon as they appear. Yesterday much to hey annoyance I fitted her with a bumper bit. However I became very concerned that she could actually eat and drink normally while wearing this as it does seem to protrude beyond the beak somewhat. This morning I have relented and removed it. Please reassure me that these medieval looking objects are humane. I know I must stop the pecking but felt so sorry for her with the bumper bit on! TAJ
She will be fine and they can fully eat and drink and get treats with them fitted - some can just look a bit sorry for themselves for 24hrs, some are fine after 10 mins. The Dogmother
Leave it on - she'll give you the evils for half an hour, then get on with her life.
Ness3103
all of mine have had them on for a couple of months now, and they can eat and drink perfectly well. one of mine made me feel so guilty, she moped around for a couple of days but she's used to it now
