Just found out we're getting the Cube tomorrow, not Sunday :dance: !

Would you say it's best to put it on bark chippings on our patio and let the girls out when I can, or to put it directly onto the grass, either with or without chippings? We haven't got a very big garden and I don't really want it to be a real quagmire, but I want what's best for the girls :D

I hope one day I'll look back at these daft questions and think Ali, did you really ask that! :oops:

I would vote patio :)

I would cover the run and use Aubiose or similar instead of woodchip though...sorry for throwing a spanner in the works!!!

Regardless of what you use (woodchip/horse bedding) I would suggest putting an edging around the base of the cube run to hold it all in. I used cheap lawn edging from B&Q held on with cable ties. :)

Well we're the proud owners of a lovely (cube green) now! It needs power washing and cleaning with disinfectant but looks fantastic.

Poor John - it was pouring down with rain and then started snowing whilst he was disassembling it - the kids and I climbed into the back of the Bongo, shut the boot down and were cosy and were able to watch him from the comfort of the car - we did wave at him (or the kids did) to let him know we were still there! I did help him put it in the Bongo though - I'm not completely heartless :lol:

After reading through lots of posts, think we're going to try the Aubiose for the run, I used to own a horse and used it with him - got on reallly well with it so will give it a try again for the chickens.

I could do with your John. On Wednesday my hubby & I started to put up my cube, half way through he went inside. I thought he had gone to the loo. About 45 mins later I had finished the cube and went looking for him. He was watchig bl**dy TV. I moved the veg patch 1.5*1.5m and about 0.5m deep, leveled off the ground and layed the pavers all on my own.

When I thanked him for all the help he just looked and said " Don't do getting hands dirty. Whats for dinner"

Men :doh::doh:
