JanTheDiver
My Hester laid a 118g egg today, this is double what she normally lays. It is not quite egg shaped so I think it must have made her eyes water when it came out

cooker
Our ex-batt lays huge eggs everytime (80-90g), shes now only laying about twice a week. She gets sooo anxious when shes about to lay, she makes so much noise you would think shes a cockerel! The neighbours are going to start complaining! she woke us up the other morning, through double glazed windows! Is this normal?? Shes not that big a hen, I don't blame her making a bit of a fuss. Bless her shes not too clever, she just walks up and down in front of the house, if you put her in the next box she usually calms down a bit... is this normal..and is there anything we can give her to make it easier for her?? rachel
Ain't Nobody Here
Hi Rachel, yes, it is normal for the eggs to get bigger but less frequent as they get older . I don't think there's much you can do to stop it, I'm afraid . I hope she quietens down before the neighbours complain .
