Anyone got a nice veg soup for the slow cooker?

I've only made chunky soups or broths in the slow cooker and they tend to be using whatever I have in the fridge that needs eating up. I always soften the onions/leeks/celery in butter first before putting in, other stuff I just chop and chuck in and add stock and/or water.

Lightly brown a couple of onions and some garlic (plus a few curry spices if it takes your fancy), lob them into the slow cooker with all the redundant veg that are lurking in the fridge, making sure that one of them is a largish potato. Add a couple of pints of stock, and then go out for the day. :D
