Martin B
Tonight on Midlands Today there was a clip on where do your flowers come from. Innocent people are buying flowers that are shipped from places such as Ecuador or Kenya, where pesticides and fertilizers have been used extremly and the farmer recieves very little for what they have produced. A lady in the Midlands who believes passionatly about fairtrade, organics etc. has set up a business that sells organic, British flowers, and they deliver all around the UK. I thought this topic might interest the people on this forum, so that's why I've posted. Below is a link to the video coverage, unfortunately my computer won't let BBC videos be played, but I hope you can see it. http://search.bbc.co.uk/cgi-bin/search/results.pl?q=organic+florist&btn=Search&uri=%2F&scope=all&go=toolbar It's in the top right corner! Jools
Thanks Martin - long may she continue . I hate the fact that people who need to grow their own food grow flowers for our vanity instead
Egluntyne
That's really interesting Martin. Well done for bringing it to our attention. I found myself just as interested in the link on the same page to an article about the banning of certain playground games. That could lead to a thread of it's own. I know what I think! Lesley
I saw that Martin - I was disappointed that there was no mention of Fair Trade though?
