Leicester_H
Dear all, I am feeling worried and guilty now. When Chikki died, I asked whether a standard run and limited free ranging would be OK for 3 chickens (ie get a new pair) and I don't think(?) anyone said it would be a problem. But now a few people have said it may be the cause of my current problem (viewtopic.php?f=5&t=59865) The 2 runs are on constructed bases and so its not easy to add an extension - and they wouldn't fit on patio. So I'm not sure what to do now. (Just tried hanging up some white cabbage. Boo pecked it, it moved, they both run off and hid in the eglu!!) Thanks, H Edited March 11, 2010 by Guest
Falkor
hi Hazel I have have said probably not ok as I believe your chooks are hybrid size? If you could confirm chooks and how much FR time you mean by "limited Free Range" that might helps us Em
Egluntyne
Hazel has 3 hybrids who are in the run for 23 hours a day.
Leicester_H
Am just about to order 2 times 1m run extenders (1 for each run). This will JUST about fit on our Patio. So can put existing 3 in one run, and then get 3 ex-bats sometime H
Egluntyne
Marvellous.
Leicester_H
Ordered - Omlet even volunteered that they had 2 'not new' ones that were perfectly usable - so they were half price and arriving next Wednesday!! So we can set up run at the weekend and as soon as Smokie if well enough, she can rejoin her 'friends' Horrah for Omlet!! H

Smiler33
You were lucky Hazel - I called Omlet last night to ask if they had any reconditioned runs / ex display ones and the chap I spoke to said not. Things must have changed this morning so that was good timing!
Leicester_H
I needed converter part (to make runs 1m longer each) - so that may be different ?? H

chelsea
Ordered - Omlet even volunteered that they had 2 'not new' ones that were perfectly usable - so they were half price and arriving next Wednesday!! Result! I did the same with my spare eglu runs - Omlet said they were "reconditioned" but they were like new when they arrived.
Leicester_H
OH now has to modify the wooden bases to accomodate larger runs - he did agree yesterday!! http://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=43282 H
