as from tomorrow, my feather pecker Dorking cross that is when DH and I section off part of the WIR. The Net Tex has not stopped her. She swallowed the first beak ring and we had to take the second one off and we and the other chickens can't take it anymore. It's not even just fluffy bum feathers she's taking out now

I hope so ANH as it's beakfuls of feathers she's pulling out. The only ones with fluffy bums are my new ones and that's only because she's not been able to get at them properly. GIven that she's low in the pecking order you'd think the other ones would go for her when she does it but they don't

My feather plucker (certainly not as advanced as yours yet...) has a BB fitted and so far so good. My next step was going to be 'solitary'. Good luck.

Well, I've one unhappy chicken but hopefully eleven happpy ones now.

 

Bedtime was a palava though as Maggie had to be put in the cube - she normally sleeps in the Go on her own. Feather plucker had to be put into the Go as she was trying to get out of her bit as she sleeps in the cube. The two newbies are out of their temporary run and out and about with the rest but we're not risking them all shut in the WIR in a morning yet so they had to put into the rabbit hutch which is in the WIR. They were trying to get in the cube but I just couldn't cope with that yet.

OMG thought I had problems with one feather plucker out of three .

 

Although Pippa is separate during the day the continuing loss of feathers in the other two means I am also considering separate night time accomodation, however only having one house I'm going to have to use a cat basket. Pippa also has a bumper bit but continues to pull feathers so I now think this is the only option.

 

I wish you well with the night time juggling and sincerely hope that things can only get better .

Thanks Eggasperated We've both felt really guilty all afternoon but know we've got to do it. I just hope the rest of the girls get their fluffy bums back quickly. I also noticed today that she's even stripped feathers off Lisa's legs They don't make it easy for us do they Hope yours and Porkypies feather peckers soon stop as well.
