Hatched at last!!!

Recommended Posts

After waiting an incredibly long 28 days the Apricott Campbell eggs have finally hatched :D We've got x4 brown ducklings and x1 with brown and yellow patches. only x1 egg did not hatch and was dead in its shell after managing to poke its beak out of the egg :( Can't moan at 5 out of 6 hatching though. One thing I did find was the last duckling that hatched was extremely weak, even after many hours of recovery time. I don't think she would have lasted the night on her own in the incubator so we ignored the advice the books gave and decided to put her in the brooder with her brothers/sisters to see what would happen. They really made a difference and really encouraged her to move around and be more mobile. After a couple of hours she was a completelly different duckling. Has anyone else had a similar experience. I've attached some photos in case anyone wants to see them :D
