Chicken boarders

Half came on day 21. Candled the rest - seemed fine. They are now piping on day 24. Any ideas why so long?

Power cut at some point?

 

Either that or low temp in general I'd guess

I don't understand it. We've incubated lots of egg and never had this before. We've not had a power cut and the temp/ humidity is well monitered. They're all in the same incubator. Strange.

Yes, all in the same incubator. Some from middle and edge hatched. Well spaced.

Ours started hatching today and it's day 24.

May I ask what breed you are hatching? Iremember when I hatched my cochin from eggs from Wernlas, I was told that they take 22 - 23 days. A day or two longer. It could be the same for your breed. I wouldn't worry so long as they look healthy, strong fully developed chicks upn hatching. Happy
