LuckyChickenLover-
I took my chicks outside today for some fresh air and Priscilla could not stop yawning! Is she okay? Heres it is: (Sorry I don't know how to embed movies) http://s1003.photobucket.com/albums/af155/LuckyChickenLover/?action=view¤t=Movie_0018.flv (There's no sound and I had to edit out parts of the movie for privacy and all that but I assure you that all of these yawns happened within a minute!) The worst case scenario would be if someone told me that she was acctually a HE, (please no ) and was 'practising' crowing. This would make sense, as Prescilla is considerably bigger and has got more proper feathers than her sister, who is only one day younger than her. However we have been assured by the people we bought her from that she is a female. I don't think that she was tired. Nor do I think she was thirsty or hungry because when I put her back in the brooder she didn't go straight to the food or the water. ...but this movie was taken at the time of day when I usually give them mealworms (their fave food ) do you think she was dropping me a hint? Raina
Could S/He of had a bit of food stuck? That's what my big girls do if they eat a big blade of grass
LuckyChickenLover-
We had a look but we couldn't see anything. We've been really carefull with only letting them eat really tiny things, although we do let them free range for a few minutes at a time so she could of eaten a bit of grass. How do you think I should help her swallow if there was a bit of food stuck? Thanks
Redwing
I expect she had a bit of food stuck and was shifting it, I doubt its stuck any more so dont worry If she has plenty of feathers at this stage then she is probably a girl - they feather up faster
