Can't believe how quickly the paving stones have gone down - all ready for the WIR arriving next week. Paved area should be finished next week, along with some other alterations to paths etc. Then we can reclaim our garden back!!!! Also chicks will have a lovely big run 6x6x12 and a further 16x6 free ranging bit. One of the first jobs is to turf or seed the 'lawn'. Anyone have suggestions what's best Then there's the small matter of new chicks! Which breeds lay blue eggs?

 

Will take some photos and try to upload them (never had much success with the avatar though ). Have new computer now so maybe easier.

Columbines have an 80% chance of blue or green eggs, I believe (mine lays green ).

How exciting! I am in the same position. Base went down this am. Just waiting for our 'Tony' run this week. Just reserved 1 Buff Orpington, and will collect 2 columbines ASAP! Looking forward to seeing photo's. Good Luck with yours

Cream Legbars lay blue or olive eggs , Araucana's lay blue eggs .

You're all set then. My base is down now and I spent today digging up their 'grass'. I'm going to turf while they are out of the way rather than seed. It would stand no chance with their scratching.

 

Blue eggs that's columbine or legbar types isn't it. They look lovely chickens, though I understand they are a bit flighty when young but develop into lovely girls.
