Is your dog's unusual barking a secret code for something mysterious?

Hi all,

 

My cousin has 4, 9 month old cockerels that don't crow( 2 RIR & 2 LS), he thinks it's because they are getting bullied by a couple of his hens (the hens don't bother with the little Serama cockerel)

 

He did ask us if we'd like one of the cockerels before he re-homes them.(we said we'd think about it )

 

So would the cockerels start to crow once they are no longer around the bully hens or around each other?

Definitely! I once had cockerels that grew up together. As soon as Boons brother went to his new home..Boon that had been totally mute....crowed! It was very odd, but apparently one cockerel is the dominant one & prevents the others from wanting to crow.
