We have returned from holiday to find one of our three girls has gone broody. Have finally managed to buy a suitable broody cage and have put her in this evening. Bit worried that it might be very cold for her overnight but will follow the instruction on here. Feel a bit sorry for her but at least she has eaten when i put her in.

You could cover it up with a blanket overnight. I will be doing this to Cilla as soon as I have bought food and water containers from the petshop tomorrow......

Yes I wondered about doing that but am concious that the whole point is too cool her down but don't want her to get hypothermia!

It is warm enough I'd say. A few weeks back I left my broody girl in the cage overnight in my WIR with no ill effects

I did the same with no probs.

 

However after a few weeks out of solitary, she's gone broody again!!!! But in solitary tomorrow is this normal?

I think it is warm enough too. I have one of my girls on day one in a broody cage, and I don't intend to cover her tonight. She is in the WIR, fenced off, in a dog crate.
