We have 2 old freeloaders who are past laying. I red on a previous post that when chickens stop laying they stop crouching, and this happened with both our birds. However, one of them has now started crouching again. We think she is too old to lay and don't think she is going to lay again, so why is she crouching? Were we misinformed?

I've seen posts where a hen lays an egg a year so that could be it.
