flinchy
Is this normal - one of the chooks is biting the others bum feathers - seems to be a fairly strong habit now and I wonder whether if this carries on Dizzy may have nothing left to sit on when she finally does lay her first egg! Dizzy seems completely non-plussed by the whole encounter, but is looking more mucky now in this area than her fellow hen (Shizzle). Should I put mustard on her feathers to stop Shizzle (the blackrock beauty) stop? Help please omleteers! Flinchy
jellykelly
Anti peck spray would probably be a better deterrant then mustard. Be warned though, wear gloves and tatty clothes when you spray the chicken. It really hums! I don't think the mustard would be very nice - poor chook would feel like she's been marinated! peanut12
I had to try bumper bits in the end. Although not easy to fit, the girls aren't bothered about them and can't grab feathers anymore
