Sooo much pooping

How much is too much? I usually give my girls a couple of small pieces of cucumber and a grape in the evening. Sometimes they share some mashed potatoe and left over veg. I don't want to overfeed them and make them fat

Late afternoon i will give them about a handful of leafy greens, 1 or 2 bugs each and a handful of mixed grains.

 

They have had the odd grape - 1 between them.

 

I'm so stingy on the treats

I would say it's better to err on the side of caution as you can't give them too few treats (they don't actually NEED any) but you can give them too many.

 

If you give them treats in the afternoon they will have filled up on their pellets/mash in the morning so they have had their nutritious food.

 

I tend to give maybe half a lettuce between my 4 girls, or a couple of handfuls of grains, or a few cabbage leaves. That sort of amount.

 

This week they are being wormed so treats are right off the menu!

So am probably OK with what I'm giving. They are so greedy though - they can hear a crisp packet opening from the other end of the garden and no they don't get any

Our girls favourate treat at the moment is porridge - made with their usual pellets/mash.

 

They hang around the back door, tapping on the window until it arrives!

 

A great way of "treating" them, without actually giving them any treats... Thats not to say they don't get added treats mind you.... We had spaghetti last night, so "had" to share it with them! They love it and look so daft with it - makes me laugh everytime!
