Mine lays a dinky little pure white egg. I assumed they all laid the same colour, but she is sitting on hatching eggs at the moment, one of which is supposedly a white silkie egg ( they only had 5 faverolles eggs, so silkie made 6 ). But, it looks nothing like mine, infact , it looks just like the faverolle eggs, beige in colour and medium size.

Mine lay a very soft creamy egg. quitel large for the size of bird

I haven't got a white silkie, but I do have a gold silkie, and she lays a cream coloured egg, and I agree with Sandie - quite big for her size She lays the same size eggs as my Large fowl Wyandotte

Can't really tell you what colour egg Peggy lays since shes only a wee baby..

Goodluck anyway- i'm sure the chick will be stunning, and i hope your silkie makes a good foster mother.

I'm not saying this in a horrible way but, if you hatch say.. 4 chicks under a broody, do you have to like put them under a heat lamp or anything? or will the mother keep them warm.. and do the chicks pass away for no reason? sorry about these questions..

The broody will keep them warm. If she hatches 4 chicks I'll be thrilled, I candled them today ( wish I hadn't ) and hate to say , 4 of them look clear.
