Helly Welly
We've decided to switch from a WIR to the cube run with extension. We put it together today, with a bit of swearing, but found a problem. The back and side panels have 'p clips' which are supposed to attach it to the cube. However, there are no holes for the p clips to screw into. The screws of the p clips are flat so they are not self-tappers. I feel that the cube should have designated holes with metal screwy bits inside for me to screw the p clips into. Presumably all cubes are like this so what have the rest of you done?????
Plum
They are underneath the cube and you have to lay on your back to screw them in. It makes me feel really ill doing it.

I know that's where they are supposed to go but there are no holes in my cube. Are there holes in yours then Plum?
Plum
Well yes but the Omlet man set up the run. I'll see if I can find the instructions.
Plum
Looks like they should be there ready. Is there marks where they would go, they may just be covered over by plastic in moulding. These are instructions, it shows you where they should be. http://www.omlet.co.uk/files/public/eglu_cube_instruction_manual.pdf

Plum
I'd ring Omlet themselves. They may sell the inserts.
enpekt
The holes with nut inserts are underneath the grey base of the cube. Think motor engineer and lie face-up and they should be there...
enpekt
Just re-read the thread. If the inserts are not there, it'll have missed quality control meaning new base. Contact Omlet. Can't understand why you're going from WIR to Omrun, though, they're so hard to clean and access. If you want an extra 1.5m run, I'll sell you ours... We're downsizing because we're sticking to 6 chickens from now on, we were up to 10 at one point but we don't have enough egg customers now. We'd also like some of our garden back. The WIR is 12'x12' and is beginning to look like the elephant in the corner. If you know anyone who wants the WIR, we're considering taking it apart piece by piece with instructions so it can be rebuilt.
bronze
Helly I'm guessing you have one of the earlier cubes I do too and because I was reading the instructions which are for the new one rang omlet to double check There are no holes in the older style You can screw the p clips straight into the base if you so desire. I have an old run too so don't have the p clips anyway hth
