Janty
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/celebritynews/7682660/Danny-Dyer-advises-ZOO-magazine-reader-to-cut-his-ex-girlfriends-face.html I didn't hear about this yesterday as hubby kept it from me. I have written two stonking e-mails today, one to zoo magazine and one to Danny Dyer's site. They'll ignore them but it made me feel better. Falkor
They said on the news earlier that Danny Dyer doesn`t actually write the column. Even if he did write it (which I don`t think he did, he seemed too nice when I met him) then copy and production should have defo picked it up. chick wiggle
That article is disgusting is so far as Danny Dyer wasnt even in the country when it was done! He had nothing to do with it whatsoever and the magazine has printed a retraction. The poor man is as upset about it as anybody. As you might be able to tell, I like Danny Dyer and was so upset when i first heard about this and then so relieved to hear it wasnt true! Janty
I do understand that he didn't write it but if you give your name to something and take the payment for that endorsement then you face the trouble if you or your agent fail to put proper checks in place. Absolutely, if you put your name to something and take the cash you have to make sure that you check what is going on.
Janty
I'd post my e-mail to zoo but it details my attack by my ex-husband when he cut my face. I end the email by saying... Thanks for advising others to do the same. Hope you can sleep at night! By the way your defence that it was 'an extremely regretable production error' is an insult. Only sick people would write that in the first place. I am so angry about this.
chick wiggle
I can now understand your anger Janty, im sorry. Your right, his not writing it is no excuse for it been printed in the first place. It is hard to believe that the content of these things are not checked before going to print
Chucky Mama
Janty, you have more reason than most to be furious. I can't understand how this sort of thing would even come into the mind of any well balanced person. It is really very concerning that whoever wrote this even considered this let alone wrote it
Seagazer
I heard a little bit about this on the Jeremy Vine show today and was completely at it. Even if he didn't write it you would think he would read through what is purporting to be written by him. I can't believe he could be so stupid to blindly lend his name to anything without checking it. I'm so sorry Janty. edited to add I can't even believe that somebody would even 'joke' about doing it. What is wrong with the world?
ladyjulian
It's not the first time he's (or his ghost writer has) given violent advice. When a reader wrote in complaining about a part of his girlfriend's anatomy, he suggested "setting light to it I hate that violence against women is still considered an acceptable thing to joke about. But when I say that I usually get accused of being a humourless man-hater. I really hope you get an answer Janty. Oh, and Danny Dyer's been sacked. That doesn't help if he didn't write it though. Woodcat
It's totally sick making. I hate lad magazine and the objectifying of women in them anyway and for them to print something that is so utterly despicable. I would hope that that donation to women's aid is a bloomin big one though i suspect it won't be if it even happens at all cause there is nothing that makes up for suggesting that that level of violence is acceptable. I do hope that whoever wrote it, as Danny didn't apparently, gets the sack as well because they sure need an attitude adjustment and some time in a mental hospital. I really hope you get an answer Janty because you perhaps more than anyone deserve one however like you i expect you won't because there is nothing they can say to justify that. Regrettable production error doesn't bloomin cover it.
Seagazer
But the editor is to blame too surely as he must have passed it for printing. They had someone from the magazine on the Vine show and a lady from a womans charity I presume and when she said how disgusting it was to even suggest something like this or the fact that these type of magazines are seen as 'lifestyle' magazines now he had a right go and I think he called her a haggard old woman or a harridan or something like that. I can remember being really shocked at the vitriol he came out with. Certainly showed what he thinks of women generally IMO. He just fell into being rude whilst she remained polite but trying to put her point across.
