What a day I'm having......

We're going to a wedding this weekend.......I was really looking forward to it until I came to fish something out of the archives to wear, and realised that last summers clothing no longer fits me.

I dashed into town, and picked something up. Managed to get matching bag, necklace, earings, lipstick and nail polish.....I can't tell you how much hard work that was.......got it home, tried it all on......and hated it

So I went back out into town for the second time, and found something a little less dressy, and more 'me'....found matching bag, luckily the earings and necklace from the first round are ok, lipstick and nail polish....

Now I'm home again, I've realised I forgot to take all the other stuff back and get a refund, so I have to go back into town - again!!!!!!!

Is just us girls who go through this panic attack everytime we get invited somewhere that doesn't involve jeans and a T-Shirt?

I tell you..my head is BANGING

I sympathise.

My Brother got married in June (hottest day of the year!) & I had nightmares with an outfit.

I am "well upholstered" I suppose you would call it, so have a more limited number of shops to buy from.

I got it all, couldn't find a bag or shoes for weeks, went on holiday, came home the day before the wedding & found the colour of said chosen garment looked horrid with my lovely tan.

Going to stick to funerals in future

You know where you are with black & it is SO slimming :D

I have a similar problem. none of my smart clothes fit me, and I haved to start going to job interviews soon as my PhD funding will end soon.

joined weight-watchers and lost 3 stone.. which normally would be great, but not when you can't afford new clothes (Im beg n borrowing clothes at the moment)

lol

hope you have a lovely wedding! here have a glass of wine... you deserve it!

Well, I'm back now, and have a cup of camomile tea and an apple, I'm resisitng the chocolate incase new garments don't fit me in the morning  . Am going to take your advice Lesley and have a lavendar bath - a tepid one, I'm still hot and bothered.

Arr, yes Sarah....I managed to find a pair of black trousers that fit me ok without having to turn them up or make alterations. I thought black would make me feel slimmer. I've got a nice red top to go with now too. I'd take a photo, but camera is on the blink (just to top my day off) but I'm hoping the matching red lipstick will draw attention away from my waistline and onto my face!

Who was it that once said....'You can have it in any colour, as long as it's black...? Fine with me!

I lost so much weight last year for my wedding, and it's all piled back on, and it's horrible and I hate it......yuck yuck yuck

Wow - 2 stone, that's fantastic.

You'll be joining Lesley's club for knee injuries and chocolate.

I did the same the year before last ( I mean dieted, not got myself a knee injury) Altogether I lost 3 stones. I've now put 1.5 stones back on  and I am really struggling to get into the swing of my Weight Watchers diet.....

Thanks for the wine

*reaches over and sips*

I'll donate some of my clothes to you I bought for honeymoon last year - I'm sure they'll fit you now you're super slim Kaz

Be careful Kaz - I was sulking as well after dislocating my knee joint just before Christmas, Birthday and New Year 2002/2003 - I managed to pile on two stones. Have lost one so far and then stayed the same through two holidays and American visitors staying.

I also managed to spend a couple of hundred pounds while watching TV! - I was that bored, I found the shopping channels!

Oh Gina, just caught up with this thread and know JUST what you mean. I hate going anywhere that's even vaguely dressy. I'm not elegant in the slightest so never look right whatever I wear. Just so long as you're comfortable in what you've chosen, you'll be fine. It's when we try too hard and spend the whole wedding readjusting something that's a wee bit too tight or a little too short that it's misery making!

Hope you enjoy the day and don't forget your refund!

Had a lovely day at the wedding yesterday - was so nice to catch up with all those people we keep meaning to see! I have a small voice this morning from all the 'gasing' I did

Bride was stunning and the whole day was just lovely. You can't beat a good wedding can you, (and I was very comfortable in my new clothes!)
