I have been giving my girls this powdered tonic every now and then. Now, I love the smell, but they don't seem to eat it - does anyone else find that their girlies leave it in the bottom of the feeder?

 

 

They even seem less keen on their wet mash if I add it to that.

I don't have any experience with mineral powder but ours dislike it when we put garlic in their feed so I expect it'a s imilar reaction. I guess it must smell or taste bad to a chicken. If you put a teeny amount mixed in with something super tasty, like corn, they might eat it. Ours (except Ginger) eat anything if it's on grapes.

I use a similar powder called chicken spice (conjures up a nasty picture of a cooked chicken!)

I add a sprinkle to a half slice of soaked bread and they love it!
