henriette
Not sure if this is the right place to post, but we are so excited as our goose, Geraldine, is sitting on an egg Her nest is quite amazing. Mainly aubiose, but also leaves, twigs and now she is lining it with her feathers. I just hope it is a fertile egg.

henriette
Here goes with some photos:, This is the egg! Expectant Mum & Dad - Mum is the grey . Tried to get a photo of Geraldine sitting on the nest but was attacked by Alfie and decided to give it a miss. He is being really horrid to me at the moment. Normally I don't mind, but I'm in shorts at the moment and don't fancy having pecked legs

henriette
Sadly, it all went wrong . Geraldine sat for 30 days and when I peeked to see if I could see any sign of a gosling, there was a tiny bit of inner shell and that's all. We can only think she trod on the egg at sometime. Possibly it wasn't fertile anyway. We'll have to wait until next year and maybe she'll try again. Such a long time for her to sit too. Strangely enough, she carried on sitting for another couple of days before she left the nest all day.
