Omlet cube and run

She laid it in the run and it was a softie and tiny. Before the OH went to get a camera she pecked it and then they all started eating it. I couldnt stop them it was a free for all

Should I be worried at all?

Not at this stage. It is very common. The soft shell is just a blip and as her system adjusts to laying, the shells should firm up.

 

They usually devour a soft egg, but it won't necessarily mean that they will break open normal eggs to eat them.

A couple of mine lay softies that the others devour, however leave the intact ones alone.
