Alis girls
we have these minute golden spiders which cluster together in a web and make a ball shape. If you lokk closely you can see them moving round. Found some on washing line (shudders) - googled but couldnt match them - any ideas spider experts - thanks
Seagazer
We get them and its usually on our washing line or under the garden chairs or something. Not very nice but I never, ever kill spiders as they do such a good job with the flies.
Alis girls
Its the fact they are a heaving mass which makes me shudder - just wanted to know what they are
Seagazer
I always thought they were just baby spiders that have hatched out. Probably wrong.
Daphne
I think they are baby spiders - we had a ball on an outside chair last week which mysteriously moved somewhere else overnight. There was big, presumably Mummy, spider close by. I did identify her as a pisaura mirabilis (I'm not a spider expert - I have an excellent book and she did me the favour of looking exactly like her photo!) She's a lovely browny grey and often holds her 4 front legs together so she looks like she has 2 wide legs and 4 normal ones.
