jam
Hey all, Been looking around at local zoos and farms to do some volunteering in the summer, but you have to be 16 or over for all of them (only six months to wait though!) Does anyone know about anywhere on the herts/ essex border thatll allow under 16's to volunteer? Thanks
Chook n Boo Mum
Scarlett I think a lot of the reason behind the 16+ age limit is insurance, so I think you'll find it difficult to find anywhere ......good luck though Sha x
Lewis
When I was 15 I got a job at a local childrens farm - only Saturdays + holidays but it was great. There were insurance probs there - any volunteers couldn't go in with the horses + pigs on their own, but some people are stricter than others. I always find it better to ask for work experience rather than voluntary work - people respond better. Maybe get a letter written up and send them out; I'd phone to ask who the manager etc was, and then address the letter to them. I sent out 15 letters with SAE's + the same in emails to try and get some lambing - got back 2 no's and one yes! There is stuff out there just need to keep trying Is it something you'd to do as a job?
