Unsecure chicken perches

Hi I bought 2 lovely chickens about 8 weeks ago, we where told they were 20 weeks old then, one, a colombian blacktail, has layed an egg every morning since then. The other a silver link hasn't started, they both have the same diet, layers pellets, corn, grit, plenty of greens and stuff. Anyone got any tips?

Time and patience are the key i think. Has your silver link started to crouch yet when you place your hand over her? This is a sign she is maturing and therefore may lay soon.

Perhaps she was a bit younger than you thought

Thanks for advice, I think maybe she was not quite as old as her friend, I will try and be patient!

She layed an egg!! a lovely white(slightly long and thin) egg, on wednesday morning, no sign of any more but feel much better as thought that she just might not lay at all!
