taz1967 Posted June 24, 2010 Share Posted June 24, 2010 Hi All One of our Chickens (Paxo) laid a soft egg earlier(about an hour ago) followed by a Yolk about 10mins later. All this while standing up. About 5 mins after that she turned round and ate the yolk. After this we let them out for a run for 15 mins so we go into the cube run and get the softie out. After putting them back in she has taken up the same standing position in the same place as before and not moved since. Just a little worried about her, and being new to this game I would hate to think that we have done something wrong to one our little girls, after all we have only had them a week and a bit. migsy Posted June 24, 2010 Share Posted June 24, 2010 Don't worry yet! One of mine has done the same sort of thing recently. She laid a few shell-less eggs at the start of her laying career. jennydavies Posted June 24, 2010 Share Posted June 24, 2010 Try not to worry too much, when they first start laying they can be a little "hit and miss" it takes a couple of weeks for the egg laying tackle to sort itself out.
