Mollie333
I have four definate fertile eggs, who should hatch 4th july.. They're light Sussex Large fowl.. What age and breed were your cockerels when they first started to crow?
Redwing
Most of the ones I have bred have started crowing after 12 weeks or so, some as young as 7 weeks One brave little soul crowed at a matter of days old in the brooder though They crow pretty quietly to start with so when they start to crow you have time to react (rehome or otherwise..) before they are loud enough to start annoying people
Mollie333
Thats what i'm thinking. I can 'rear' them untill they crow loud, then back to my dads friend and will be rehomed with about 50 of light sussex ladies!
