Hi all,

 

I've just received my ACV from Omlet (super service btw) and wondered how much I should put into my super glug?

We usually put a capful in, don't know if that's the right amount.

(I suppose it depends on how big the cap is)

I have a sports bottle full and just add a squeeze when I fill up the water

 

I dont think it needs to be more scientific than that

According to the blurb in the Omlet shop, the dose is 1/4 tsp per drinker.

I just put a splash in when I use it.

In the chicken keeping course notes it says 10%, so 10 ml per 1 L of water.

 

A teaspoon is 5 ml, btw

Sorry if I am sounding a bit thick but What does apple cider vinegar do? Do I need to get any?

Asking a question you don't know the answer to is not being thick....

 

ACV helps hens to absorb calcium from food (needed for stronger eggshells) and also acidifies their gut, making it less ideal for worms to multiply...not a cure for worms but it, and garlic, and diatomaceous earth all help, if one doesn't want to routinely use chemical based wormers, like flubenvet.

 

I worn with flubenvet once a year and the rest of the time ,rotate the ground they all live on and use ACV, garlic and verm- as a preventative measure.
