lloyd Posted July 6, 2010 Share Posted July 6, 2010 Hi, someone mentioned to me that an effective way of keeping the algae out of a water feature is to use Milton baby cleaning tablets/solution. I thought it was a good idea but am worried about the girls drinking from the water if there is Milton in it, I know a baby can drink for a Milton washed and not rinsed bottle but what about chickens? Some people put a couple of drops in to drinkers to prevent the water turning green, with no ill effect. One recommended treatment for sour crop is to add 5 parts per million to water, so as long as it is very dilute, it shouldn't be harmful. I don't have much water in the feature its just a bucket with a cover and a pump inside that oushes the water through some stones.
