Take part in study on PFAS 'forever chemicals' in eggs

Hi

 

Can anyone help please...We are very new to keeping chickens and have ha 4 ex bats about 2 months now.They have water and food stations raised on bricks to keep the soil out and stop them from kicking stuff in but are still managing to kick the water station completely off and so the water goes all over the soil in the run. This is sometimes ok but when I'm at work this isn't so good as they can go without any water for a few hours. Has anyone found a food/water station that gets round this problem? Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there.

My eglu is in a walk in run so I attached the original glug to a piece of wire mesh tied to a post. They climb on it but haven't dislodged it. Perhaps a glug is the answer for you.

If you have "normal" water /feed "hoppers" with the metal wire handle, then try getting a piece of rope, tying it to the roof of the run, and attaching to the handle of the hopper. Either knot it, or use a carribena from an outdoor shop. This works well for me.

I'm the same as chickenanne, have them hanging from roof.

Mine never dislodge the Glug from the side of the run..(although they frequently stand either in it or on it )
