markm
Anyone got one? If so - How much do you pay in site fees and what facilities do you get?
keyhole kate
We have one but so many factors come into it ours is in an area classed as outstanding natural beauty in North Norfolk http://www.pinewoods.co.uk and costs approx £2,000 a year from March to Oct extra £200 for Oct to Jan winter season if you choose to use it. I know people who pay less and have swimming pools club houses etc but it is really dependant on location and what kind of holiday is your cup of tea. We hate amusements, launderettes, chip shop type sites but that's just us. The actual costs/rules involved in buying and selling are a minefield and not usually to your advantage either most sites require you to have a caravan over a certain value, they have to be replaced every 16 years, you can only sell with a minimum of a number of years left the site want a percentage of the sale. Some of the well known resorts H***N etc insist you sell back to them at yes rock bottom prices the rules go on and on. Hope this is of some help if you are thinking of buying KK
Seagazer
We have one, just got back from weekend in ours. Our fees are about £3,200 a year (think thats right). We pay for gas canister things and electricity and water on top. Our site unfortunately is not in an area of outstanding beauty but is very handy for visiting my sister and brother We have entertainment, cafe etc but rarely use these so would have been nicer to have got a cheaper, quieter site. We can take our dog to ours, whereas the quieter park behind does not accept them. We've had ours for about 3 years now and it is very handy although probably an expensive way of visiting family. We've let other family members borrow it. I had a friend who owned one on a Haven site and her fees were nearly £5,000 so she had to rent it out and book herself in for a couple of weeks at summer and odd half terms. Thats the other way to do it but I like to leave my things down there so I don't have to take things backwards and forwards.
