madchickenlady
Just got in from the school run to find that one egg has a tiny crack in it! Definitely wasn't there before I'll get nothing done today

madchickenlady
Have heard cheeping from the pipped egg No further movement, though.
Roobaloo
So exciting!! Do the eggs rock about at all before they hatch? I'm just convinced none of mine are going to hatch tomorrow so I'm desperately looking out for any sign of life!!
craftyhunnypie
They don't always rock - I've had some rock like mad, then others which didn't & they just sort of exploded hatched! Good luck! Emma.x
madchickenlady
I have a chick! Today is day 20, and it looks like it hatched a couple of hours ago. Very cute. It already looks like it has a teeny comb, though, so we are calling it 'he'. Two more have pipped
Roobaloo
...Day 21 and still no sign of life.
madchickenlady
Don't give up hope just yet! The pipping was all very sudden Fingers crossed you get some movement by the end of today
Roobaloo
I hope so ...I think I'm grateful that I'm having to cover a second shift at work today, otherwise I'd be walking back and forth to check every 30 seconds!!
craftyhunnypie
Some don't get out until late on day 22, almost day 23. Some take nearly 48 hours to get out - so hold on in there. Sending positive Omlet vibes for your hatchlings! Emma.x

Jools
I had a very delayed hatch last year with my LF. I hadn't realised that my broody wasn't completely covering the eggs and they took 24-25 days to hatch. It can happen so don't give up hope too soon. lotz2612
I HAVE CHICKS!!! I had 1 and a half this morning (Half pipped!) hoping the rest have hatched today. Will go home soon and see what we have. Very excited and my 1st attempt of incubating ended up with 10 half developed chicks and 5 non starters
Roobaloo
Still no indication that they might hatch. We'll see what tomorrow brings but I'm pretty much resigned to it being 100% failure now.
lotz2612
I have 3 very cute and healthy bantum chicks...1 black pekin and 2 partridge pekins. I still have 1 to hatch but if nothing comes of it..i wont be too upset...i have the other 3 to play with Can't wait till I get home tonight so I can take them out of the bator and watch them play with each other. The two that hatched yesturday were so funny. They were (playfully) beating each other up...you know..sibling rivallry, being really active....and then suddenly..they would stop and go to sleep...really suddenly....then they woke up again and started playing around. So cute What should I name them? Hmmmm!
Roobaloo
I've increased the temp a fraction as I've read a few articles that say a delayed hatch can be caused by too low temperature...
