Mollie333
Hi Two of the Warrens have both got runny noses. I was given VETREMOX - which is prescribed for Pigeons, but the vets gave it to us when we thought that Pat, my silkie, hurt her leg, she actually had a disease. But the vets said it was a 'general antibiotic'. I thought i might ask you guys if i can use to to take away the colds. I have tried to google it, but nothing is coming up, only for use on pigeons. Plum
Hi Mollie, Vetremox is ampicillin which is effective against gram negative and gram positive bacterial infections. However, you do not know if it is bacteria, virus or fungal. It could be coryxa, IB, Mycoplasma, foreign body or another problem. I believe baytril is the treatment of choice for respiratory tract infections so if it was me I would ring your vet and ask his advice before using the Vetremox. Egluntyne
Says **here** that it is for the treatment of chickens and turkeys, so it will be safe to use on hens. However, you should always have the permission of a vet to administer antibiotics.
