shoura
Poor Lady Jane got a nasty dog bite tonight from one of my terriers who grabbed her by the neck when I stupidly picked her up in front of them.... I don't know why I thought they might have outgrown their insane jealousy when I pick the chickens up (they are fine with them except for that) Anyway, nasty 2" gash along her neck, but luckily it was just the skin so the vet was able to stitch it up under local and she is now back home in the cage in the utility room overnight... she has eaten some corn and so far seems fine...fingers crossed. Needs another antibiotic shot on Monday and stitches out in 10 days....and she has some liquid for pain relief....poor wee mite! The vet said she was a very well-behaved chicken! Dolly
I hope Lady Jane has a speedy recovery and can return to her friends soon. I know how worrying it can be when you have a poorly girl to take care of.
Seagazer
Poor thing, hope she has a speedy recovery. My dog would love to eat my sussex x from the way she acts through the run
scarlettohara
I got complacent with my borders and the bigger one has snapped at the chooks a couple of times with luckily no harm done - I shut them in now if I need to do any handling or give them treats. Terriers can be horrors at times Hope your chicken makes a good recovery
