Ammonia smell in coop-first time owner

Don't panic. I haven't gone completely mad.

My in-laws are getting some of the geese from Gullivers Geese in Norfolk.

Anybody got any experience of geese and what to feed them?

 

Geese don't really have a section so I posted here.

It depends firstly what age they are and if you are keeping them for eggs. We have 3 geese embden crosses and as we keep them as pets and for eggs we feed them layers pellets and mixed corn.

Wherever possible, feed them any cold callers that come calling; geese have as much right to a Sunday dinner as the rest of us.

I thought you'd have to start planning another WIR for a second!

 

Pretty much the same as chickens. At the farm they're on layers pellets, mixed corn and they get an odd scoop of wheat (can go in the bottom of a clean pond/drinker).

If they're in a pen they'll eat all the grass so they can give them greens too
